The Big Idea:
AFRP needs help saving animals' lives. The nonprofit has found loving homes for more than 17,200 cats, dogs and rabbits since 1998—and these are usually shy, injured, abused, pregnant and either too-old or too-young animals that would otherwise be euthanized. Local shelters call AFRP to care for these critters; AFRP takes these animals in, provides medical care and ample pets, and then find them new homes. The group makes Monterey County a better place for homeless pups, kitties and bunnies. If Sarah McLachlan singing behind pictures of abandoned puppies brings tears to your eyes (you know it does), donate to local animals' safety net.
No-Kill Zone:
"Funds from last year were utilized for our Lifelink Dog Transportation program. We were able to transport over 1300 dogs to other no-kill rescues operations throughout Northern California, Washington and Oregon, alleviating the overabundance of dogs in local shelters."
